The SUSPENDED MAGNET also named suspension magnet or suspension magnetic separator that is one of the best separation equipment for conveyor belt applications. It consist a powerful permanent magnet which is placed in a welded framework that capable of removing tramp iron from huge volumes. The most significant thing is that it is a simple and cheap device for protection of plants for crushing and grinding.
Suspended (Suspension) Magnet is especially designed for the extraction of occasional tramp iron from a product stream being conveyed by a conveyor belt or vibratory feeder. The magnet is suspended above a conveyor with sling chains setting the magnet face at the correct angle for optimum extraction. The suspended magnet has capacity of retaining magnetic property even at high temperature and functions with full potential. An electro suspension magnet can be repositioned away from the conveyor and de-energized for cleaning. A Permanent Suspension Magnet can be suspended from a travelling trolley so that it can be moved away from the conveyor to be manually cleaned.
The principal applications are for processing of bulk products such as Culets, Glass, Coffee, Cereals, Minerals, Coal and Sugar etc.
Regal Magnetics can be installed at the end of belt above the head drum (Image-1) or across the Conveyor belt (Image-2). To avoid distraction to the magnetic field, in both cases, the magnetic parts must be placed below the surface of the magnet.
The installation shown in (Image-2) is recommended for high speeds. Due to trajectory of the products and the fact that it is then fluidized, separation is more efficient.
